Excellent Instructor, down to earth, always answers any questions, and very technical. I have been with him since I was 11 years old and now I am 24. I look to his teaching everyday.

Honestly the best instructor I could ask for. Not only is he a phenomenal instructor but is a lifelong student who constantly focuses on making himself better and shares his knowledge with his own students.

My family loves training with Sensei Chris. He is a great instructor who is very technical, up beat and ready to rock. He is very passionate about learning and passing on his knowledge to his students.

Chris Brough is an awesome insturctor. His ability to break things down coupled with his physical expertise makes him one of the best instructors available in the New Jersey area.

Chris is an exemplary instructor. He uses effective and proven teaching methods (i.e. mixed level classes to encourage peer tutoring amongst and across belt levels) and affords formal opportunities for higher belt levels to share their knowledge with others. Teachers from any discipline (BJJ, academic, etc.) stand to learn much from him. Students who put in the mat time and effort progress steadily and admirably under his instruction. And for the older BJJ student, like me, he is eternally patient and positive.

Sensei Brough is an excellent instructor in technique as well as being a physical presence on the floor. As of 3 weeks ago I got to briefly workout in Sensei Broughs BJJ portion of a Black Belt workout and his understanding of what BJJ is made it easier for me to not overthink my technique.

Ive never had the pleasure of taking a class from him, but I've trained with Chris on several occasions back when he was a brown belt. Chris is very knowledgeable, technical, and an all around nice guy.

There are those that can do and those that can teach, Chris Brough shows that you can combine both. His passion for the world of martial arts is evident in every class and how he carries himself both in and out of the dojo.

Chris is incredible, very knowledgeable, and easy going. He really understands the importance of communicating well with all of his students of different skill levels and personalities. He loves teaching and his enthusiasm is contagious. I would recommend his school to anyone trying to learn bjj who is in the area.

You can go to a lot of schools to learn punches, kicks, takedowns and submissions but that only scratches the surface of what Martial Arts training and the Team at Excel Martial Arts will teach you. Chris, being the leader he is, has assembled an amazing team of caring and compassionate people who not only Lead, but inspire their students how to become leaders - and that's what the Martial Arts is about. It's a vehicle to find your greatest potential but only if you are in the right environment, with a team of people that know how to guide you.
